Icon Defense precision machined billet uppers are CNC machined from solid billet 7075-T6 aluminum, resulting in extremely tight tolerances and barrel extensions that are thermally fit to upper receiver for superior accuracy. Receivers are finished with Mil-Spec Type 3 hard coat anodizing.

The Difference Between the Standard and Flared Billet Upper Receivers
The Icon Defense Standard Billet Upper will accept most handguards on the market and does NOT have cutouts for the anti-rotation tabs.
The Icon Defense Flared Upper has the cutouts for the anti-rotation tabs on the Icon Defense handguards, as well as the SOLGW M89/L89 handguards. The Flared Upper is also compatible with the Hodge S-lock rails and the Sionics Camlock rails.
